New children’s book starts now

I just started to illustrate another children’s book. The publisher will be Jollybooks and the author is Andrea Gehlen. We did several books together by now. Thanks for that :)

So this time the story is about a (your) kid (you can personalize the child) and the little witch Holly. Today I drew the first sketches for the book cover.

I’ll keep you updated with the Cover and all the other illustrations. So step by once in a while :)

And this is the witch Holly. Some of you may remember her. She was a part of my last book I illustrated for Jollybooks: Post aus Traumland.

Perfect signature tool: Wisestamp

Every professionell (Illustrator) should have a good signature at the end of their emails. Don’t you think? I had one, made by myself as the most do. Link to the Webpage, Adress, email, Telephone, Link to Facebook and so on. And I thought it’s fine that way.

But then I stumbled over Wisestamp. A perfect and simple tool to make your signatures look even more professionell. Facebook, Twitter & Co show up as little icons, you can upload pictures which link to your website e.g. and so on. And it’s all for free.

So this is how my new Wisestamp-signature looks like :)

You can switch it off and on for each single mail if you like to. I just put the Link on my Links I love page. Have a look over their to find more of the tools I use.

Him again

I went to the Zoo yesterday with my little girl and frauknopp. I had to take some pictures of the new ape house for my Stuttgart-Wimmelbuch (hidden object book about Stuttgart).
And then there he was: Mr. Peacock. Trying to impress a female. Didn’t work. Haha. So here’s a photo I took of him and a tiny scribble I just made. Thanks for the inspiration Mr. P :)

Scribble – flower & robot

Remember our Live-Painting? The visitors of our exhibition chose between the themes “Plants” and “Robots”.
You can imagine that everyone of us had some thoughts beforehand about how their drawing should look like. I want you to show my two ideas and the final outcome ;)

Erinnert ihr euch an unser Live-Painting? Die Besucher konnten zwischen den Themen “Pflanzen” und “Roboter” wählen. Und entschieden sich für letzteres. Ihr könnt euch denken, dass wir Illustratoren uns zumindest ein paar kleine Skizzen vorher gemacht haben. Auch wenn am Ende vielleicht etwas völlig anderes gezeichnet wurde ;)

And this is my robot how he finally looked like. It was quite different from the original scribble, but I wanted him to interact with the other guys around him.

Und das hier ist der Roboter den ich am Ende gezeichnet habe. Er hat eine völlig andere Position, aber ich wollte, dass er mit den anderen um sich herum agiert.

Finissage mit Live-Painting

We’ve had a wonderful finissage with tons of delicious food, lovely people and a real exciting Live-Painting. Twelve of us illustrated roboters on Plexiglas. It was so much fun :)

Wir hatten einen super Abschluss unserer Ausstellung “Stuttgart illustriert” mit einer leckeren Finissage und einem tollen Live-Painting.
Letzteres war besonders aufregend, denn für fast alle war es neu, live vor Publikum zu zeichnen. Das Thema war “Roboter” und so legten wir los. Auf Plexiglas (Danke an unseren Sponsor Glasschmid für die Scheibe *wink*). Es hat SO Spaß gemacht. Jeder von uns durfte mal und so wurde es ein super Wimmelbild.

Das Bild kann noch bis heute Nacht (Montag, 22.4.2013) um 0 Uhr ersteigert werden. Das Mindestgebot liegt bei 200€. Einfach eine email senden an stuttgartillustriert@web.de, zusammen mit euren Kontaktdaten und natürlich dem Gebot.

Finissage und Versteigerung

 Nächsten Samstag, 20. April 2013, findet unsere Finissage von Stuttgart illustriert statt.
Mit Live-Painting & Auktion, Musik, Leckereien und guter Laune.

Hinter den Kulissen wird noch fleißig geplant.

Das Haupt-Event wird das Live-Painting auf Plexiglas sein. Das Bild, an dem wir alle gemeinsam zeichnen, wird dann versteigert.
Ihr könnt eure Gebote in einer stillen Auktion abgeben. Auf der Finissage per Zettel, aber auch alle die nicht kommen können: ihr habt die Möglichkeit uns bis Montag Nacht um 0 Uhr eine email an stuttgartillustriert@web.de mit eurem Gebot zu schicken. Das Bild werden wir vorher natürlich ausführlich zeigen :)
